During the Middle Ages, entry doors were typically constructed using wooden planks as shown in the photo below. 

These plank doors were substantial and remarkably heavy and needed to be securely bound using wrought iron straps attached to hinges mounted to the wooden frames.

Because of the aesthetics reminiscent of the Medieval Ages, the demand for iron door straps still remains high with traditional and rustic architecture and are a popular segment of our product line.
